Five members of “Returning Valiant” were arrested for subverting the state after yesterday's burglary in a secondary school, according to the police.
Four men and a woman, aged between 15 and 24, are now being detained for investigation.
The arrest came after four members of the group broke into Po Leung Kuk Laws Foundation College in Tseung Kwan O in the early hours of Wednesday, which triggered the security guard to report the incident to police.
The police today first arrested three men, and found items advocating Hong Kong’s independence in their homes, in violation of the national security law.
The burglary suspects are understood to be secondary students themselves, with some attending the school in question.
Officers were spotted at the school in the afternoon collecting fingerprints, and they left at around 4pm.
The school said that it was informed by the police that someone broke in yesterday, and now that the case is handled by police, it will not make further comment.
The police tonight updated that another man and woman have been arrested, after investigation by national security officers.
The student group said on social media that its members have been arrested by the police in the early hours today and lawyers have been sent to provide assistance.
The group added that political suppression will not deter them, and they will continue to assemble talent and fight tyranny.
